Through the Waters

Sermon from October 15, 2017. The Scripture text is Exodus 14:19-31 and it recounts one of the most well-known stories in the Bible: the parting of the Red Sea. It’s a definitive moment of deliverance for this new nation. The waters open and the people pass through the waters. But where is Moses in all of this. Moses holds out his hand over the waters, twice.

This is the 2nd sermon in the series about Moses: A Life Lived with God delivered on October 1, 2017. The sermon is based on Exodus 3:1-15 and takes seriously the history of Moses and the encounter with the Divine in the wilderness of Midian. Moses is far from where he ought to be, but God is there with him. That place is holy ground. Where are you?
