Sermon on June 11, 2017.
The Scripture passage is from Genesis 1:1-2:4a, an account of creation. Because this is audio, you’re missing out on the children’s artistic contributions to worship on this Sunday during the Scripture reading. They made posters the previous Wednesday depicting each of the days of creation and during the reading, they held up their artwork as we read about their day. It was a little chaotic, and perfect!
The sermon is about us more than creation. It’s about the beauty of this world and the universe, but it focuses on how we fit into the vision of God’s masterpiece. We are created in God’s image, meant for more than simple consumption or existence. We are meant to be co-creators with God.
